This study correlates genetic mechanisms of androgenetic alopecia (AGA) with treatment responses by analyzing an anonymized database of 26,607 patients. It identifies a preliminary association between eight specific SNPs and AGA, highlighting the variability in therapeutic responses and emphasizing the need for personalized treatment approaches in managing AGA.

This study aims to create alternative oral formulations of itraconazole for dermatophytosis treatment. The most effective formulation combined hydroxypropyl methylcellulose and β-cyclodextrin, achieving similar dissolution rates as the reference product while delaying precipitation in the stomach. Additionally, it more than doubled the intestinal permeability of itraconazole.

This study assessed the stability of various active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) in SyrSpend® SF PH4, including amoxicillin trihydrate, clozapine, indomethacin, and others. The method was validated for various parameters, including linearity, accuracy, specificity, and repeatability, ensuring reliable assessment of the product’s stability under different storage conditions.

This study assessed the in vitro penetration of ketoprofen and lidocaine hydrochloride through human skin using transdermal vehicles. Results showed that the vehicle with Tinctura capsici achieved the highest permeation, followed by those containing camphor and ethanol, and menthol and ethanol, compared to the vehicle containing Pentravan® alone.

This study evaluated the physical-chemical and microbiological stability of compounded minoxidil formulations in TrichoSol™ and TrichoFoam™ at concentrations of 1.0% to 7.0%. While noticeable color changes occurred, no other quality attributes were affected, with no precipitation observed and pH remaining relatively stable throughout the assessment.

This study examined the use of topical tacrolimus in a solution vehicle for inflammatory scalp conditions in 13 patients. After one month, 63.6% had a good response, increasing to 72.7% after two months, with responses persisting at six months. Tacrolimus was found effective and well-tolerated for maintenance treatment.
