This year, on Women Visibility Month, we were proud to launch the first edition of Fagron’s Female Mentorship Program: a 6-month mentoring opportunity for all the women at Fagron that want to explore their ambitions and further develop their careers.
We have received applications from all over the world and we worked on a very thorough matching process of all personal backgrounds, language preferences, and program expectations of both applicants as well as mentors.
The number of applicants we got was larger than the number of spots we could offer, and what this shows us is that the women at Fagron are eager to learn and explore their leadership ambitions.
Due to the tremendous success, we are already working on the 2023 FMP edition, to continue to support women in their development journey.
Women in Fagron
The majority of Fagron employees (53.1% in 2021) are female, but there is still room for improvement when it comes to female presence at all levels of the organization. To reach equal distribution of gender, we decided as part of our ESG strategy, to set a target for male-female distribution in management.
By the end of 2025, we aim for:
- 50/50 male-female distribution in all management
- 1/3rd of the senior management is female
In 2021, women made up 40.7% of all management, meaning that there is work to be done to reach this target. The goal to have women make up one-third of senior management has been achieved in 2021 (making up 34.1%).
The Mentorship Program is a step in that direction, aiming to promote gender equality at the management level to give ambitious women the chance to be linked to a woman in a (senior) management position. This way, we hope to encourage women’s career advancement.

FMP Kick-off
Last week the Mentorship Program started officially. All mentors and mentees had the opportunity to connect, get motivated, and get some tips and tricks on how to make the most of this mentorship. During the kick-off, we were joined by Els Bosma, a Rapid Transformational Therapist, and a Positive Psychology Coach, whose mission is to support all successful women in getting to where they want to be – in a heart-centered, meaningful career that suits their values.
Together with Els, and all the participants of the first edition of the Female Mentorship Program we got to learn more about how to establish clear goals to explore our leadership ambitions, using Charles Snyder’s Hope Theory, and get to know our zone of genius and the importance of goal-setting.
After the kick-off session, it is now in the hands of the mentees and mentors to further develop their learning and their ambitions to further scale up in their careers. We are looking forward to seeing our first Female Mentorship Program take off and getting started with the 2023 edition of the FMP!
