As it is the tradition during International Women’s Visibility Month, we are launching a new edition of Fagron’s Female Mentorship Program.
With more mentors and mentees every year, we want to keep nurturing opportunities for women to become leaders.
About the program
This was created to be a mentoring opportunity for all the women at Fagron who want to explore their ambitions and further develop their careers. During the duration of the program, mentors and mentees were asked to meet regularly so they could establish their mentoring relationship and have an open space to talk about their challenges, goals, and ambitions.
At the same time, we can provide a platform for all female leaders. The mentors are able to inspire them to achieve more. Seeing a leader in your organization that you can identify gives you confidence that you too can advance to that level.
We ensure that both mentors and mentees make the most of the program by organizing sessions specifically designed to offer guidance on various topics. Additionally, we facilitate panel discussions and check-ins to provide ongoing support and resources for all participants, fostering a supportive and enriching environment for mentorship.
All to encourage women to challenge themselves and learn from their mentors so that we can cultivate a diverse and inclusive culture. When women mentor women, they can provide guidance on navigating their careers, advice on skill development, ongoing support, and accelerate their development.
By aiming to promote gender equality at the management level we are giving ambitious women the chance to be linked to a woman in a (senior) management position and we hope to encourage women’s career advancement.
Gender Equality as a target
Gender Equality is an important topic in our organization.
The majority of Fagron employees (56.7% in 2023) are female, but there is still room for improvement when it comes to female presence at all levels of the organization. In order to reach an equal distribution of gender, we decided to set a target for male-female distribution in management.
By the end of 2025, we aim for:
- 50/50 male-female distribution in all management
- 1/3rd of the senior management is female
In 2023, 40.4% of employees in management positions were female, meaning that there is work to be done to reach this target. The target to have at least one-third of top management positions filled by women is closer to realization (31.2% in 2023).
As we set targets for gender equality within our organization, the Female Mentorship Program stands out as a vital force for progress, empowering women to excel in their careers. Through mentorship, guidance, and a shared commitment to gender equality, we strive to propel women into management roles, forging a future where leadership transcends gender barriers.
